About Verdi Music Academy

      Verdi Music Academy is a premier music academy in North New Jersey, founded in 2004. 

The highly esteemed director originally returned to New Jersey after years of operatic training in the musically rich country of Italy. His dream was to begin an excellent community music school offering lessons in a variety of instruments. Inspired by Italy’s greatest opera composer, Giuseppe Verdi, the school was named “Verdi Music Academy” and has been serving students young and older ever since. 

     The mission of Verdi remains the same to expose students to the beauty of music through high quality, affordable, and most of all enjoyable music lessons. Verdi Music Academy is the number one music academy in the area, New Jersey for a variety of reasons. Verdi Music Academy offers a variety of instruments: Electric, Acoustic Guitar, Bass, Voice, Piano, Violin, Cello, Flute and Drum Set, all in one location, in different styles such as classical, jazz and rock. Students have many options when choosing which instrument and style they would like to study.

Verdi has 19 dedicated and highly qualified music teachers, with training from schools such as the Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, Mannes, NYU, Berklee College of Music, Indiana University and more. Our teachers are active performers and top competition winners. Most importantly, they are experienced teachers, dedicated to helping students grow through patience, kindness, and hard work.

3. All levels and ages are welcome

​

Ages 5 to adult may enroll in music lessons. Our experienced faculty places a large emphasis on important music fundamentals, especially for beginners. We train our students vigorously in music theory in conjunction with instrumental training.

Monday – Friday: 2:00 p.m ~ 9:00 p.m
Saturday: 9:00 a.m ~ 6:00 p.m
Sunday: Closed

5. We believe in the importance of music

​

Studies have shown that music education increases brain function and encourages positive physical, mental and emotional development in children, as well as adults! Musical instrument study not only gives students the opportunity to create beautiful music and appreciate the arts, but it teaches dedication, hard-work and other important traits that are also useful in other areas of life.

 

6. Verdi Music Academy has the most classrooms in Bergen County!

 

Our practice rooms at Verdi contain all the supplies you need for music lessons, including pianos, keyboards, drum sets, violins, cellos, guitars, amps and more. We have an extensive library of music books, and instrument rentals are available.

 

7. Bi-annual music recitals

​

Students have the opportunity to present their music for friends and family at our bi-annual concerts which are held at Verdi’s Grace Recital Hall. The recitals are an excellent chance to show off their hard work and musical progress.

8. Grace Recital Hall on location

​

Verdi Music Academy has its very own recital hall, Grace Recital Hall, which seats 100 people and contains a stage with a beautiful grand piano, drum set, and amp, and sound system. Students have the opportunity to present classical, rock, and jazz concerts, as well as open-rehearsals.

 

9. Convenient location in North New Jersey

Verdi is located in Fairview NJ, within close proximity to Fort Lee, Ridgefield, Edgewater, Cliffside Park, North Bergen, Palisades Park, Leonia, and other surrounding North Bergen County areas. We are just a ten-minute drive from New York City and the George Washington Bridge.

 

10. Ensemble and Band Opportunities

​

Students have the chance to participate in music groups, such as string and piano ensembles as well as rock bands. Playing in music groups gives the students the chance to learn to work together, listen and develop ensemble skills. Ensemble playing also gives students the chance to support each other by playing as a team.

 

11. Monthly Payment Plan

​

Rather than paying each semester, students can pay month-to-month. Students are able to enroll at any time. Payments can be made with cash, check or credit card.
